This time it’s egg – indie news

(Washington DC) – Joe Biden’s presidency has been a complete disaster for the American people.

The food price index reached an all-time high in February – 24% higher than a year ago.

Gateway Scholars previously reported:

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations reported last week that the international food price index reached an all-time high in February. Food prices are up 24% from a year ago.
And it’s only going to get worse.

It’s getting worse now.

Due to a highly pathogenic avian influenza, egg prices continue to rise. The last outbreak was in 2015 – at which time the price of eggs rose to about ড 3.

Zero Hedge reports:

Add eggs to the list of rising food prices in grocery stores. The cause is a highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) that has spread across the United States.

Bloomberg reports that HPAI commercial poultry operations, backyard farms and wild herds have been identified since Jan. 26 across the east coast and midwest.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has been monitoring the spread in the United States. The standard method for farms where HPAI has been detected is the infected swarm. Last week, APHIS said the virus killed 2.8 million chickens and turkeys a month. At least one million birds have recently died on a poultry farm in Iowa.

Since the HPAI spread is recent, it cannot be said whether it will decrease anytime soon. The last outbreak in 2015 killed 50 million chickens across 15 states, pushing the price of retail grade A eggs to about $ 3 per dozen. Prices are currently at 2.
