First on Fox: The State Department is being sued by a government surveillance group after the department said it would not be able to comply with a request for a document involving the office of presidential climate envoy John Kerry until after the 2024 presidential election. Protect Public Trust (PPT), a government surveillance agency, filed a transparency lawsuit against the State Department on Wednesday after the department said it could not meet the group’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in Kerry’s office until November 18, 2024. That means the State Department has said it will not be able to meet the request until the next president is elected. The State Department is unable to confirm that Putin will be held accountable after Russia declares him a “war criminal.”
