Sen. Mitch McConnell mentions GOP members who support Ukraine differently

(Washington DC) – Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell cited a Republican who backed Putin as the “lone voice” in the GOP.
McConnell appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday. The senator noted the need for direct US assistance to Ukraine, as well as the need for Ukraine to win the conflict. Host Margaret Brennan noted that some other members of the GOP disagreed, such as Rep. Madison Catherine who called Ukrainian President Zelensky a “thug”.
“Well, there are some solitary voices that are elsewhere. But looking at the Senate Republicans, I can tell you that if I were the majority leader, I would have supplemented this Ukraine by myself. I think virtually every member of me will vote for it. “
McConnell referred to the “solo voice” as the “Putin wing of the GOP.” Tony Katz says the label against his own team shows that he is playing in left-wing games.
“If you start talking about the GOP’s ‘Putin wing’, you are buying leftist talking points and you will not benefit from buying leftist talking points.”
Katz argued that McConnell should have also mentioned that the Republican Party was for the Ukrainian people. Survival And even if they win the overall conflict, they are not for the country.
