Progressive mega-donor arrested in Maine on child porn charges – Indy News

A prominent progressive politician who has financed Democrats in Maine and elsewhere, including multiple donations to the Biden campaign, was arrested in his home state on Friday and charged with child pornography. Mega-donor Elliott Coulter, 75, was taken into police custody by soldiers at his home in Brooklyn after a two-month investigation, Maine Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Shannon Moss confirmed to Maine News Center. Cutler is facing four counts of possessing illegal sexually explicit material in Class C, which means subjects were under 12 years of age – Matthew J. Foster, the district attorney for Hancock and Washington County, told local outlets. Authorities made the arrests just days after a search warrant was issued for Cutler’s home on Pine Street in Portland and Naskeg Point in Brooklyn. Law enforcement searched two properties owned by Cutler earlier in the week. Cutler was jailed in Hancock County Jail on 50,000 bail and a court date was set for Monday. Each of the four counts carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, the national file said. Foster said additional charges are expected to be filed News Center Maine reported that Cutler was released on bail on Saturday afternoon Foster said police first received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in December involving a single illegal photo. According to Foster, a search of the devices last week found at least 10 more files. Foster says more charges.
