Poll reveals who Republicans want as Donald Trump’s potential 2024 running mate

Republican voters overwhelmingly want Florida GOP Governor Ron Desantis to be Donald Trump’s running mate if he runs for president in 2024.

According to a new Morning Consult / Politico poll, 27 percent of Republican voters say they want Trump to choose Desantis as his potential vice president, compared to 15 percent for former Vice President Mike Pence.

Former United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nicki Haley is in third place with 12 percent of the vote. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is in fourth place with 9 percent when respondents were asked who they would like to see as Trump’s Republican running partner.

Earlier this month, Trump suggested he would not choose Pence as his running mate if he were to run for president in 2024.

“I don’t think people will accept it,” Trump said.

Trump cited the aftermath of the 2020 election, suggesting that his differences with Pence were too difficult to overcome.

“Mike and I had a great relationship, except for the very important one that ended up happening. We had a very good relationship,” Trump said. “I haven’t talked to him in a long time.”

“I was disappointed with Mike,” Trump added.

Trump has dropped another indication that he will run for the White House in 2024.

Trump spoke about Joe Biden, the Ukraine-Russia conflict, what is going on in the United States under Biden, and whether he will be, during an interview in the “Full Send Podcast,” which was removed by YouTube for “violating the rules.” Fighting for the presidency again.

“The question is, Don, you hinted at that,” Host Bob Menari began. “Are you coming back and running for president of the United States?”

Trump replied, “Campaign money laws do not allow you to discuss this unless you literally want to go through a different process.” “So, I think a lot of people are going to be really happy. You guys can be really happy but I think a lot of people are going to be very happy. However, I’ll wait.”

During his keynote address at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Trump dropped his biggest tease late last month that he would run again for the White House in 2024.

In a sympathetic speech, Trump fired a verbal salvo at President Joe Biden and his administration amid a growing crisis in Ukraine following the invasion by several thousand Russian troops last weekend, when he promised to help Republicans regain power in mid-November. And in 2024.

“Socialists, cosmopolitans, Marxists and communists who are attacking our civilization have no idea about the sleeping monster,” Trump said Saturday evening.

“But they are going to find a difficult path starting November 8, and then again, more so in November 2024, they will never find it before. We’ve done it twice and we’ll do it again. We are going to do it again for the third time, ”he promised.

Trump said, “Extremist leftists have tried to replace American democracy with an awakened dictatorship. “Our goal in 2022 and 2024 is to fight these fierce and power-hungry ruling classes and give them an electoral defeat.”

“I have no doubt that President Putin, seeing the tragic situation, decided to invade Ukraine ruthlessly. [United States military] Withdrawal from Afghanistan, “Trump added.

“Yesterday, journalists asked me if I thought President Putin was smart. I said: ‘Of course he is intelligent.’ “The problem is not that Putin is smart, of course he is smart. But the real problem is that our leaders are dumb, ”he said.

The poll reveals that Republicans appeared in the first Conservative briefing on who they want as Donald Trump’s potential 2024 running mate.
