(Indianapolis) – Indy is starting a quarter-billion-dollar road construction season.
Reconstruction of the road on Market Street and improvement of stormwater along Broad Ripple Avenue will begin next week. They are the first of dozens of road, bridge, sidewalk and sewer projects totaling 271 million.
Two valuable projects will rehabilitate the Emerson Avenue Bridge over I-65 and the historic 30th Street Bridge near Riverside Park. Dan Parker, director of the Department of Public Works, said the $ 15 million repair project on the century-old bridge had been completed for decades, and said some parts of the bridge had literally collapsed, due to past vehicle accidents.
Some projects have already been announced, including the expansion of the Indie Cultural Trail downtown and the widening of the southern half of the Manon Trail. Mayor Joe Hogset laid the groundwork for the nominee project last week.
The রাস 30 million City-County Council member is set to be recommended for residential road and sidewalk projects, which projects need the most attention.
