New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Thursday exempted athletes and performers from his vaccine mandate.
City workers and other private sector workers, however, still need to be vaccinated against Kovid.
How is it valid?
“I’m going to make some tough choices. People are not going to agree with some of them. I must move this city forward, “said Adams. “The generals lead from the front. I was not chosen to be afraid, but to be fearless. ”
Adams argued that the decision to exempt athletes and performers was to keep them in a “level playing field.”
“It’s about keeping New York City-based performers on an equal playing field,” he said. “Hometown players had an unfair advantage.”
Sounds like science!
More than 1,400 city employees were fired for not being vaccinated, but unvaccinated athletes and performers are now allowed to return to work.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams has officially extended the city’s vaccine mandate waiver for athletes and performers.
