Bozel doesn’t blame Biden for high gas prices New media MRC study unveiled

Appearing on the Fox Business Network Vernie & Co. On Thursday morning, Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center, released a new MRC study exposing leftist media efforts to protect President Biden from high gas prices. Bozel also highlighted the MRC polls of state voters on the battlefield, showing that weak reporting on power policy could affect the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

“Okay, who is the media to blame for the high gas prices?” Host Stuart Verney asked. Bozel broke the new numbers in a study of morning and evening network newscasts last month:

February 24 – Since the war began in January, we’ve seen stories of growing, uncontrollable gas prices covering networks, killing the average jockey there. In 33 of the stories they have told, they have blamed Russia. In 3 cases they blamed the Biden administration. So by inequality of 11 to 1, they are saying that it is Russia doing something which is not the policy of this administration.

Bozel then emphasized the impact of such oblique coverage, even in the run-up to the election:

Now, what have they done – why is it so important? We took a survey, Stuart, before – just after the 2020 election. We went to the battlefield states, to the seven battlefield states, and we asked them multiple questions – to the bidden voters – did they know anything and if they did, would it affect their vote? We asked them – we asked them, did you know that under Trump administration, America has become independent? 50.5% of biden voters have never heard of it.

He noted that the survey found that “5.8% of Biden voters in these war-torn states said they would not have voted for him if they had known,” which could have changed the outcome of the contest very well.

Verne followed: “Democrats blame gas stations for the rise in prices, they blame oil companies for profits. I bet the media has played too much, right? Bozel asked a question of his own: “We also saw it. Do you know how much time ABC, NBC and CBS spent on canceling the Keystone Pipeline from January 21, 2021, which gave us the strength to shut it all down?”

After Verne correctly guessed that it was “not much”, Bozel revealed that Biden’s catastrophic decision was a small amount of wind time: “29 seconds … that’s it.”

Here is a complete transcript of the March 24 segment:

10:42 AM ET

Stuart Verni: Look who’s here now, Brent Bozell, the man who follows the media and everything that the media depends on. Well, who is the media to blame for the high gas prices?

Brent Bozel: We’ve seen it. First I tell you what the media is doing and secondly why it is so important. February 24 – Since the start of the war in January, we’ve seen stories of growing, uncontrollable gas prices covering networks, killing the average jockey there. In 33 of the stories they have told, they have blamed Russia. In 3 cases they blamed the Biden administration. So by discriminating from 11 to 1, they are saying that it is Russia doing something which is not the policy of this administration.

Because the media does not cover this story properly. Then we asked them, did you know that you would vote for Joe Biden? In those war-torn states, 5.8% of Biden voters said they would not have voted for him if they had known. Now, you take that 5.8 and you put it across the battlefield state – Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Trump would have won 295 electoral votes, he would have been re-elected president. How important it is.

Vernie: It’s a good thing, it’s good. The last one. Democrats blame gas stations for the rise in prices, they blame oil companies for the profits. I bet the media has played too much, right?

Bozel: Of course there is. And what’s not? Didn’t play? How about the Keystone Pipeline? How about canceling that? We look at that one as well. Do you know how much time ABC, NBC and CBS have spent to cancel the Keystone Pipeline since January 21, 2021, which will give us the strength to stop all this?

Vernie: Not much.

Bozel: 29 seconds.

Vernie: Is that it?

Bozel: Yes.

VARNEY: I wish I had more time left, Brent, because that’s a very good thing, we appreciate you coming up with it.

Bozel: For you.

VARNEY: Thank you very much, sir. We’ll see you again soon.

Bozel: Thank you, Stuart.
