In Europe’s biggest ground war since World War II, 7 out of 10 Americans in a new NBC News poll expressed low confidence in President Joe Biden’s ability to deal with Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and 8 out of 10 expressed concern that the war would raise gas prices and possibly nuclear. And with the country’s biggest inflation rise in 40 years, the overwhelming majority have said they believe the country is on the wrong track and dissatisfied with the way the president manages the economy.
These are some of the key findings from a new national NBC News survey that found that Biden’s overall job approval rating dropped to 40 percent, the lowest level of his presidency. The poll also found that Republicans enjoyed a 2-point lead in answering which party should control Congress before the mid-November elections.
Of all the adults who took part in the poll, Biden’s job rating was 40 percent who approved his performance and 55 percent who rejected it – the lowest mark of his presidency in the NBC News poll, although the movement is on the margin of voting error.
In January, Biden’s overall work rating stood at 43 percent approval, 54 percent dissatisfaction.
